Happy anniversary on a budget
The title says it all. I have not been around here for a while. That is because I was spending some quality time with my wife for our third year anniversary . I can’t believe it was just the other day we said we do and now we are no longer newly married. I hope to see many more years with together with her.
A couple of weeks before our anniversary week, I was thinking of what we will do this year. We had already had two happy anniversaries before but this one was going to be different because of our decision to go frugal. We wanted to have fun on a budget. However, I did not set any budget. We just enjoyed ourselves knowing we had to be economical in what we do.
So yesterday I went through our bank statement and added up the costs of everything except gas. However, this anniversary was different. We did not take any long trips which means we did not sleep in any hotels,no flying out-of-town and no expensive gifts. We are both on a mission to change our financial life and we believe that is one of the best gift we can give each other at the moment. They say fun is what you make it to be and so we did simple stuff and had a blast.
We went out for dinner once, watched a mountain biking race, visited some museums, did a bus tour around the city of Philadelphia, rode the ducks into the Delaware river and also went for some go aping adventures where we completed the whole course which included 4 zip lines over a pond.
What was even much better is that all that cost us only $250 and we were both very happy which is priceless.
What are some of your favorite and frugal anniversary ideas or things you enjoy with your special someone ?
